For the quarter panel light assembly, when prying, you need to apply the prying tool towards the front of the assembly (i.e. further away from the two 10mm bolts), top and bottom. Pulling the assembly straight out away from the car body). Worse comes to worse, you can use self-adhesive velcro as a replacement if you snap off the plastic tabs.

For the assemblies that are on the rear hatch, you have to remove the inner body panel by removing the one 10mm bolt in the middle of the panel, and the two 10mm bolts that are used on the hold bar. Then just pull the panel off the body, you can't damage anything when removing it so just pull it. Both tail light assemblies are then fully accessible from the rear. Do NOT try to pry off the light assemblies on the rear hatch, they are bolted from the inside.
