Have to replace the whole switch
The brake light switch is on a bracket near the base of the steering column.
The brake light switch, on a Dodge neon, can be found under the dashboard just below the steering column. The brake light switch just unplugs. Unplug the switch and replace with a new one.
the brake light switch is an air over elec. switch located in an air block on the floor behind steering shaft
Most steering wheel buttons bulbs are not serviceable, you must replace the button(switch) or the shole horn pad, most dash and switch bulbs are not serviceable

To replace the brake light switch on a 1995 GMC Sierra 1500, the steering wheel will have to be dismantled until the brake light switch is reached. The switch is changed by unplugging it and plugging in a new one. There are screws holding the switch in place.
Unfortunately this is one area of my car that I have been really unimpressed by GM. That $0.50 light bulb you want to replace on your dash or your steering wheel will be the cost of the switch it is behind. They are integral and the bulb can not be replaced on it's own. Pop the switch on your console for the heated seats, and you will see that it is really not something that can be done. An even worse thing. If you have a switch on your environmental controls on the dash that will not light. You would have to replace that whole unit, at a cost of about $900.00 Canadian, when they replaced mine after a different problem If you have an extended warranty They will not cover the light as the switch still works. Hope that helps. Kumar You can't, you have to replace the switch's themselves
No there is no light behind that switch
There is a second light switch that activates the parking lights without the key being on. It is on top of the steering column behind the steering wheel. If this switch is turned off and the lights remain on when the key is off, there is a malfunction in this circuit.
Disconnecting the brake light switch requires crawling under the steering column of a vehicle. The brake switch is placed behind the brake pedal and the clip for the switch will be on top. Simply unplug it.
On a bracket in front of the pedal up behind the knee roll beneath the steering wheel.
