Okay, I have a 97 K1500 and just replaced this a couple of months ago. I am no mechanic, but I managed to do it. 1) obvious - buy the bulbs... 2) not so obvious - wear gloves...I am an L/E officer, so I have a supply of rubber gloves. Oils from your skin can damage the bulbs. 3) Remove the housing by twisting it gently and then pull the old bulb out. It's a tight fit, but I am a pretty big guy, and I got my mitts in there. 4) Replace the bulb and housing and you're off. Took me about 15 minutes.

Remove the headlight connector from the back of your 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo headlight. Take hold of the lightbulb, push in and turn at the same time, to remove. Reverse the process to replace the new headlight.

The 97 Chevy Suburban doesn't have a timing belt.
