If your truck is overheating!!! Then check the upper radiator and lower radiator hose's , if the lower is cooler the the upper the either the thermostat is not opening or the radiator is clogged
Drain the cooling system (lower corner on the passenger side of the radiator should be where the drain plug is), remove the upper and lower radiator hose and heater hoses (you simply unclamp and pull them), remove the brackets holding the radiator in (located at the sides and bottom of the radiator), pull out the radiator. Installation is the opposite of removal.
how do you put on the lower radiator hose on a 91 honda prelude?
No. The top hose goes to the engine. The bottom hose feeds from the engine to the heater core back to the radiator.
they mount to an extension that can be removed by 2 bolts
It is at the end of the lower radiator hose on the motor. You will have to empty the radiator and remove the housing to replace it.
This is a good time to service the system. If one hose is bad, replace both the upper and lower unless you have already replaced the lower. Also check the heater hoses carefully and replace if in doubt. Drain the radiator and remove and replace the thermostat. Fill it up with a 50/50 mixture of the proper anti-freeze and distilled water. Bleed all air from the system.
The thermostat on a 1984 ranger is located in the lower radiator hose housing connected to the engine, not the top like most vehicles..Fairly easy to replace. Just remove the bolts.. then the housing and the thermostat.
On the lower reservoir of the radiator. You should be able to see it looking from under the hood on the driver's side.
