There are 2 metal "hoses" , actually pipes, at the rear of the 3.0 and 3.5 engines. The larger one connects the water outlet, (top hose) to the cast manifold on the rear of the block, sealed by O- rings. Drain the cold radiator, remove the top hose, unbolt the water outlet, remove the top intake manifold, remove misc. small hoses, unbolt the rear coolant manifold and lift free. Separate the steel tube from the cast parts, clean the aluminum parts and reassemble in reverse order with a NEW pipe and O-rings. (If the old one's got any serious corrosion at all, why patch it?) Now would be a good time to change those Iridium spark plugs, too. Which brings us to the other pipe.
The smaller pipe connects the water pump via O-ring, to the heater outlet hose. If your other pipe was rusty, this one is too. Since the pipe passes thru the open valley between the cylinder banks, change it while you've got the upper intake out of the way. Need more room? the lower intake's history in 5 more minutes. Get serious with your inspection mirror if reusing the old back-half of the water pump. This has to SEAL to the O-ring. Old Schoolers used a tiny bit of Prell shampoo to lube O-rings. Almost anything works in moderation. Reassemble and Remember to vent the system, when filling, to ensure no air! (AIR =Corrosion and Overheat)
how do you replace the starter on a 2001 montero sport?
The fuel injectors on a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport are located on the top, back side of the engine. They connect directly to the cylinder and provide fuel for combustion.
The fuel pump on a 2001 Montero Sport is located inside the fuel tank. Its position allows it to more easily transfer fuel by pushing it toward the engine rather than pulling.
The code that came up should have specified a location. Left, right, upstream, downstream, etc.
how to replace radiator in 2001 ford escape 3.0 engine
who do you set a timing on a 2001 Mitsubishi montero
If it's the same 3.0L engine they put in the 2001 Montero Sport, the alternator is (looking from the front of the engine into the bay) located on the left side of the motor, toward the radiator, down low. It's straight below the power steering pump. There should be a belt that runs from the crankshaft to the alternator. Good luck... I'm on my third in 3 months.
I had to replace the engine in my 2001 stratus SE and it ran me 900 dollars.
Should be located at the upper end of brake pedal under dash area
