theres TWO sensors the one I changed was the UPDRAUGHT O2 sensor located at the top of the catalytic-converter, first obtain a replacement O2 sensor ask for the ORIGINAL type to save the idiotically expensive later model pin size connector/converter...ok so remove the air-filter front , two clips at top then take out the filter element, feel UNDER the remaining metal bracket holding the air-filter body for TWO 13 millimeter bolts carefully remove these and the box is loose...then look over the back of the engine to see the updraught O2 sensor, disconnect the cable you have to lift a plastic "retaining tab" to get the plug off...then clip off the wires to the OLD duff sensor, using a small hammer (yes!) tap the top of the OLD sensor and it will break off..discard the debris, then you are ABLE to get a Snap-On 23 millimeter end to remove the Old O2 sensor, Screw in the New O2 Sensor try NOT to touch the actual sensor head /bulb, screw in by hand FIRST, then tighten gently like a spark-plug, reconnect the plug, which will ONLY go ONE way , be sure the wires are secured to the press fit holder to avoid wires burning on the HOT!! muffler pipes. THEN look in the MAIN fuse box behind the battery, open lid see a >YELLOW (30 Ampere) fuse pull it out, WAIT for 30 seconds, this will clear the fault from the ECM /computer, replace, re-assemble the air filter assembly...start the engine it may run odd for a while till the ECM sets itself up again ...after a few miles ..done!
If someone could please explain who to get to the oxygen sensor and explain where it is for sure?
In the exhaust, front of catalytic converter.
Approx $70.00
There are two. One before and one after the catalytic converter behind the engine.
It is located on the exhaust, maybe a foot or so from the engine. which side?
THE O2 SENSOR IS LOCATED ON THE MANIFOLD. IT JUST UNSCREWS OFF THE SIDE OF IT, THEN YOU JUST UNPLUG IT.
yes definately. replace the o2 sensor, and you might want to also replace your pcv valve
where is the oxygem sensor on 1996 Mitsubishi mirage
A 1996 Dodge Ram does not use a mass airflow sensor. It has a MAP sensor mounted in front of the throttle body.
The 1996 Ford Taurus heated oxygen sensor can be found behind the dashboard on the passenger side of the passenger compartment. The oxygen sensor should be labeled as such.
The oxygen sensor bank 1 is located in the exhaust manifold. The oxygen sensor bank 2 on the 1996 BMW 328is is located in the head pipe.
Need a special socket. They are located in the exaust manifold(s).
