How do you replace the radiator coolant sensor on a 1997 Sunfire even when the coolat tank if full and where is it located?

I have a 1998 Sunfire and am getting my coolant sensor replaced today. I am told by the dealer that it is located in the housing of the plastic reserve bottle. Basically I am told you have to replace the entire bottle. Hope that helps?
I just unplugged mine it was a lot cheaper
