How do you replace the rear struts on a 1995 Mercury Tracer?

jack up car, remove wheel, may need a pry bar, remove 2 bottom bolts at bottom of strut. go into trunk area & find top of strut mount and remove the 3 or 4 nuts securing the top. push down hub assembly & pry outward, pull strut down and out. installation is opposite of removal.

5w-20 seems to be the norm for cars in that year ... check your manual if you have one -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ( 1996 ) Mercury Tracer owners manual shows ( 5W-30 ) is the preferred engine oil weight

A 1995 Accord does not have shocks. It has double wishbone suspension with struts. It is obvious you do not have the skill or tools to replace the struts. Serious injury can occur if not done correctly. Take it to a professional.

the one possibility that i can think of is that your thermostat is stuck in the closed position not allowing the water to circulate threw the engine
