How do you replace the serpentine belt on a 2000 Chevy Tracker 4x4 2.0L engine and AC?
Use a wrench to relieve the preasure off of the belt then remove the belt and replace it using the schematic on the fan shroud. If it doesn't have one draw one before taking the belt off. Don't rely on memory.
Looking at the front of the engine there are two idler pulleys; using a 14mm wrench/socket turn the idler pulley closest to the alternator/power steering pump from 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock this will release the tension on the belt.

Sure, you can put almost any engine in any car if you have the time, money, and expertise to do so. The modifications on this swap would be extensive. Not only the engine bay but the front suspension would require modifications. As a matter of fact E-Bay recently had a tracker with a 454 Chevy engine in it. I didn't look to good for gas mileage. or turns Also see: http://www.suzukiconversion.com/suzuki_tracker.htm

Replace the belt, and reinstall the engine mount.
First make a Diagram of how the belt goes around the Pulleys. Get a 14mm socket and or wrench ( I used a breaker Bar) Find the Tension Pulley, on my 1999 tracker it was silver and faceing the engine on my left next to the Fan Belt pulley. Turn the nut toward tighten ( clockwise) and it will move down taking tension off the pulley. Then work the old belt off an up around…
