All starters are the same .Disconnect the battery !!!! I never thought I would ever have to have said that; but someone proved me wrong . The starters on Jeeps are easy to get to. If you have ramps even better. There are only two connections to take off .There may be a few wires together but there are only the two .A large one and a small one. One is on the starter motor and the other is on the solenoid .There may be two nuts on the posts as you take off the wires. the front one is to hold the wires on the inner one is to hold the post in place. Don't let the post turn the inner nut holds the post from turning and ruining the motor(This goes if you are putting a new motor in or if you need to take it off to do work on th engine). With the wires there is two bolts holding the starter in place losen and hold starter (never thought I would have to say that too) with bolts out it might just fall off. While you have it off ;look at the teeth of the flywheel .They may be broken and that could be your problem and not the starter .(Dead Spot on the wheel )then just go in reverse.Don't overtighten the bolts though.
THEN RECONNECT THE BATTERY!
Good Luck!
