Look down into the engine bay and the starter is behind the manifold on the right side of the engine. 1. Disconnect the red lead on the battery 2. Raise the front of the car and support on jackstands.. DO NOT WORK BENEATH AN UNSUPPORTED VEHICLE 3. Label and disconnect the wires from the terminal and solenoid. 4. Undo the three bolts that hold in the starter. Install is reverse of removal Time.. under 1 hr
A Chrysler LeBaron has a timing belt.

Follow the hose from the top of the radiator back towards the engine, where it connects is the thermostat housing, this can be removed by taking out the 2 bolts. - remember to replace the gasket!
Hello, Jamison here, We can assume that the old starter simply got so worn that it was haveing difficulty turning the engine fast enough to start it,,,,,,,,,,,, So it is likely NOT the flywheel or as it is called by Dodge FLEXPLATE,, So we return to the starter, We assume it has never worked sinse it was installed,,,,, sadly, You got A bad starter, You must replace it again.,,,,,,,,, Sorry, Jamison.
The scanner plug in is under the dash on the drivers side and is the OBD1 system

well the transmission could be crapping out, but make sure youre using the right fluid and that you have enough in, Chrysler never made a good transmission in the early 90s though
