How do you replace the thermostat located on a 1997 Pontiac Transport?

if its where i found mine on my 92' 3800se, you should find it between the upper radiator hose assybly and the engine block on the drivers side, its less than 6" from the air intake and filter assy. there should only be two bolts holding it on (10mm socket requiered). autozone: $5 get the gasket too its $0.99......

The thermostat is located inside the radiator. Remove the radiator cap and pull the thermostat up. Remember to put the replacement thermostat in the same position push the new thermostat down in the radiator. The O-ring gasket will automatically seal.

I believe you want to drain the coolant, remove the top hose at the thermostat housing, remove the housing, replace the stat and gasket, reassemble fill with coolant and bleed the system.

Depends on what size engine you have, and what year of Grand Am you have. Mine is a 1996 with a 2.4L engine. So my thermostat is located in the bottom radiator hose, where it goes into the water pump.

Thermostat is located inside water outlet. You have remove the outlet if you want to replace the thermostat.

The thermostat is located in the thermostat housing at the engine end of the top radiator hose.

follow the top radiator hose to the engine, remove it then remove the thermostat housing, remove the thermostat and replace it

Follow the upper radiator hose, where it goes into the housing on the engine, sometimes, you have to remove the water pump on these critters to replace the thermostat.

You have to remove the timing belt cover,camshaft pulley and timing belt.Itis near the top behind the belt.

The hose that goes in the top of the engine, the thermostat is in the hose.Unscrew the hose take the thermostat out and replace,Very easy
