How do you replace the thermostat located on a 1998 Ford F-150 4.2L V6?

Follow the upper rad hose from the rad to the engine and you will find the thermostat housing. Drain a gallon of coolant out of the rad and then remove the thermostat. When replacing the thermostat make sure the spring goes to the engine. Fill the rad back up.
