Until you remove the cooling fan shroud you probably can't even see the w/pump. First, disconnect the air intake from the air cleaner. Then remove the air cleaner housing from the shroud. The shr0oud is easily removed by undoing the 2 or 3 screws that are down near the bottom. After you get all the plastic out of the way, it shud be pretty clear sailing. Slacken the tension from the serpentine belt tensioner and remove the belt. Now you have to drain the coolant, remove the w/p hoses and the pump.
Havn't done it yet on my '98 but have had to replace the alternator, and the foreplay is the same. Good Luck! MCP

The 1999 Chevy Astro horn relay switch can be found on the back of the horn. The relay switch will be attached to the horn with two retaining screws.
Remove the belt from your 1999 Chevy Metro water pump. Remove the water pump return hose. Remove the water pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to replace the water pump.

The PCV valve on a 1999 Astro should be located on top of the valve cover. It plugs in and can be easily replaced.
Unbolt/remove driveshaft. Use U-joint press to remove old U-joint, install new and replace driveshaft.
