1. First you should disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. 2. Drain the cooling system. 3. Remove the upper radiator crossmember and cooling fan assembly. 4. If you have a 2.7L engine remove the timing chain and chain guides. If you have a 3.2L or 3.5L remove the timing belt. CAUTION: Do not turn the crankshaft or camshafts while the timing chain or belt is removed or your engine timing will be off. 5. Remove the water pump bolts to remove the water pump. 6. Install the new O-ring in the grooves in the new pump. It's easier if you wet it first. 7. Install the new pump torquing the bolts to 105 in-lbs. 8. Reinstall timing chain or belt, cooling fan assembly, radiator crossmember and everything else you took apart. 9. Refill the cooling system. Some say you could reuse the old coolant if it looks like it is in good condition, but I say you might as well use new coolant unless you resently had a coolant flush.
