Replacing the water pump on this 2.5 motor is very time consuming. This is because you must remove any accessory in the way of the bolts for the water pump. Including the harmonic balancer and the alternator belt tensioner. If you need more help please let me know. I have succesfully removed and rebuilt motor on this 2.5 motor. F. Garay

Replace the speedometer cable. Better yet, replace the car. I had this problem in my 94 acclaim. Somehow it had gotten severed and no new part was needed. Take it to a mechanic you trust and all it will cost you is labor. No need to replace the car.

On my 1990 it is the middle relay on the left fender between the battery and the shock tower.
It is screwed into the exhaust behind the engine.
Check lower control arm bushings.
