Mention is made of a wooden inlay (Ezekiel 41:16) and a wood beam (ibid. 41:25), but the material of the walls themselves is not explicitly identified. The implication is that the walls are made of stone. Gold is not mentioned, but there may be a gold inlay on the wood.
The word "motif" is often used to describe a repeating pattern, but may mean any design. An inlay motif is a design that is imbedded into a surface such as wood or stone. It is a method common to decorative pieces such as furniture or jewelry. This link shows a swirl and oak leaf motif inlayed in wood. http://www.frenchbrotherscustom.com/ The look is achieved by using contrasting colors/stains of wood.
I have a Jeff Nelson marquetry piece - a trout rising to a mayfly. The signature on the piece is the last name nelson and possibly the capital "N" is drawn so the right post of the "N" creates the letter J. The signature is embossed in to the wood probably with a little heat to "brand" the wood.

Not ideally. A 9 wood would replace a 5 iron, but could be used to replace a 6 iron if you so wanted.
