Before you fix the vehicle, make sure you set the brakes on. This can help in avoiding accidents. You can use blocks or anything that can impede the movement of the automobile while it is being fixed. Safely try to remove the negative-charged cable from the battery before moving on with the task. Once you find the starter, you can find on it a mounting connection and a couple of electrical connections. Safely remove the electric cables and mark the ends with their particular connection points. You can use the Duct Tape to hold the cables away to avoid accidents. Be gentle in doing these procedures in order not to break any important part. When all the connections are taken off properly, you can remove the starter safely. Replace the broken starter with a new one and then return the necessary connections, starting from the mounting connection to the negative-charged cable of the battery. When all these connections are tightly back in placed on their original positions, you can start to test the motor once again and it should work fine.
Hope this helps.
