I was told you have to drive the car for 30 minutes or 30 miles and it will figure everything out.
You do not have to reset the fuel pump just because the battery went dead.
Check your battery terminals, when it has enough power to run the starter, then suddenly not its probably a loose or corroded battery connection.
You need a new battery.
chips went out in 1994, you now have to reprogram the computer with an after market programmer that you buy and have to install the program.

Your battery went dead sometime it messed up the computer. Disconnect the ground for 5 or more min. Reconnect and it should work
Take it to the dealer. They get the numbers off the radio and input them to the master GM computer to get the master code. There is no other way.
The new battery was dead. ======================== Another contributor believes that this is the more likely answer: The 'newer' car radios, with programmable push buttons ... and other things where you can set it once and then forget it ... need to constantly connected to power or else they 'lose their memory'. When they're installed, there's a wire that stays connected to the battery even when the radio is off and the ignition key is out. If you changed out the battery on your car, then there was a time when this extra power wire to the radio went dead, and the radio lost its memory. You have to start from the beginning and reprogram everything.
You need a new battery or a new alternator.
check the alternator
If it's the same as a 1994 XJ6, there is a code under the bonnet on the driver's side (at the top when open). Enter the last 4 digits. If there's no sticker, you need to remove the radio to get the serial number, and contact a dealer.
computer memory may be blank. if you unhooked your battery or it went dead for any period of time you may need to get your computer memory re flashed. cost is about 75 bucks at the dealer.
