Park the vehicle and put on the parking brake. Turn the ignition to on/run, but do not turn on the engine. Remove all the tire valve caps. Then press the open/close buttons on the key remote simultaneously and hold them down for 5 seconds. This will activate the tire pressure system to "learn mode". Then STARTING WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE, AND MOVING CLOCKWISE, change the air pressure on each tire (simply let some air out with the top point of one of the valve caps pressed against the valve stem) for a few seconds until the horn beeps (usually 30 seconds or so). It is important to start with the driver front tire first, then the passenger front, then the passenger rear, then the driver rear. This process "teaches" the TPMS the pressure on each tire. After the driver rear is complete the process is done. Refill the tires to the required pressure, and the system should be reset and fully active. If you do not follow this sequence, the learning process will stop, and you will have to start over. Obviously, you will want to do all of this where you have the ability to refill the tires (either at a gas station, or at home with an air pump/compressor available).
Note: You may have to do this process after a tire rotation, if the service person has not done so, or after changing to a new tire. If you were replacing a flat tire, and used one of those flat repair sprays, the spray can actually foul up the TPMS sensor such that it will not work on that tire any longer. Also, you may do this process correctly, and still find that the TPMS system has not reset. Either way, the TPMS may be faulty, and will need to be serviced, and you should call your dealer or mechanic.
