If you're talking about updating the Nexus 7's OS, look under Settings, then scroll down until you see About Tablet. In there, go to System Updates. It will then either tell you that there is an update available, or when it was last updated (if at all). If you don't see an update, you can tap Check Now. Google rolls out OS updates much faster than a carrier-branded tablet, so expect newer flavors of Android when they come out to get to you sooner.
