This will depend on your make and model. The best place to look is in your owner's manual.

First the light has to be connected to a tester to erase the fault codes. Then it should be programmed to get the new codes and it works.
The ABS light is on because there is a fault in the system. Once the fault is repaired or fixed the light will reset itself. The ABS system can be scanned for codes to help diagnose the problem.

There is no reset for the computer. You can disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and this may or may not reset any fault codes. If not they will have to be reset with an OBD2 scan tool.
You get the software for the engine (e.g., DDEC for Detroit, Insite for Cummins, and I'm drawing a blank remembering what it is for Cat) and a diagnostic connector (such as NexIQ or Inline for Cummins), pull up the fault codes, and reset them. Now, if it's something which is going to be recurring, those codes will come back until you repair the fault (if they clear at all).
Put key in ignition. Turn key till dash warning ligth come on. Press "open" button on fob. If it works the locks will go down and up to show it has worked.
Reset the exhaust emission warning light by turning the ignition on and off 40 times. Light codes can be read by the old brake/accelerator press and turn the ignition on.
Repair the component that set the fault code, and then reset the ECU with an OBD2 scan tool.
Where is trip odometer reset button on vauxhall insignia
There's no great ''trade secret'' as to how to reset the service indicator lamp on most Vauxhall's, simply refer to pages in the Owner's Handbook! For reference of those interested in such matters, but who might not have access to an owner's manual, this is the procedure to follow: Vauxhall service reset * Turn Ignition Off * Hold Trip Reset In * Turn Ignition On Still Holding * Trip Reset wait for three dashes * Turn off Ignition * Turn on Ignition to confirm To the best of my knowledge, the above service light reset procedure applicable to most Vauxhalls HOPE THIS SAVES YOU PAYING FOR INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)
