check the TPS (throttle position sensor) check the TPS (throttle position sensor)
its behind the air filter
You have an idle air control valve and you also have a throttle position sensor. They are both located and the throttle body.
The Explorer will need to relearn its idle etc ( drive cycle ) and the clock and radio stations will have to be reset
A Ford Escort might not idle properly if the throttle position sensor is not functioning properly. This part is a plug in that is on the side of the carburetor (throttle body).
They are not supposed to be reset because they are factory set to comply with emission laws. yes but where is it located
Could be throttle plate is stuck in open position - try to "free" with a screwdriver in throttle throat
There is no idle screw. The idle air control valve controls the idle and can be set on different settings. You should consult a Ford dealer or mechanic for proper settings.
