I just purchased the 93 ver. of this same car with the same prob. The mechanic saidto turn the key to "on" (not start!) and leave it for 10 min.
After that doesn't work you can disconnect the battery and wait a minimum of 30 min. Put the key in then re-connect the battery. My car started for a mere min before cutting out again. These dang security measures are more trouble than they are worth. I Wish they could just be Removed completely!
There are several possible solutions to reset the immobilizer, assuming you can get into the car, the reset can be done by putting the key into the ignition and leaving the key there without starting the car.
how
You can reset the immobilizer on a Citroen C4 in one easy step. Simply insert the key into the ignition and turn it very slowly.
To reset the electric immobilizer you must put the key into the ignition and slowly turn it. You should see the lights in the car start to turn on. It does not work if you turn the key too fast.
i dont know
Leave the key on for about 15 min.
Press lock then unlock five times on the key fob.
insert the red key into the ignition barrel. watch the immobilizer light go out. remove red key. put in the key that you want to code, straight away. wait a few seconds. remove key. immobilizer light comes on. insert the key that you have just coded. immobilizer light should go out. start engine.
The key is faulty or the immobilizer will not accept the code. remove the battery for 30 mins to allow the system to reset.
put the key in the ignition turn the key to the second setting on the ignition lock (marked | )while in this position press the key to lock/unlock the car this resets the immobilizer and the central locking
put your key into the ignition but do not turn the key leave for 30 seconds then start if this dose not work the battery in your key fob may be flat
