I disconnect my battery and it goes out and is out when you reconnect. My 1997 Chevy van w/ 4.3L engine cannot handle all the fuel when I used passing gear, and the light comes on from raw gas going into the exhaust system. The only draw back I have found in doing this is that you need to drive it for 35 or so miles (some at freeway speed) to reset the 'black box'. And then only when you are going for an inspection sticker because they somehow need to be able to 'read' the black box in their inspection. Hope that helps...
That requires an OBDII engine scanner.
Yes it will, there the same.

What is the engine in the Caprice? In the Suburban? If they are a 305/350 then they can be interchanged. I have a 1985 Caprice Classic with a 305 and the tranny came out of a 1987 Suburban. It depends on the engine.
