hold down the mileage reset then turn ignition on and until the InsP turns to ---- let the reset go and walla you can start the car or turn the ignition off
This works on my Corsa, think the same instrument panel is in the astra Not sure if anyone knows but you can reset your service inspection lamp on your Vectra C, Astra H and Corsa C & D with out the aid of any diagnostic tools.
Simply press the trip reset button on the dash at the same time press the brake pedal then switch on the ignition, keep brake and trip pressed for 10 to 12 seconds and hey presto its done!! If you already knew that i will go back and crawl into my shell

this means that's its due a service , if you press and hold the odometer (trip) button on your dash then turn ignition on you should get a countdown from 10 to 0 then the service light will be reset, and............... the spanner has gone!!!!!
The spanner comes up to indicate that the car is due for a service. It should be reset by the garage after the service is carried out.
To reset, with the ignition off, hold in the trip reset button, then turn the key to position 2 so that the dash lights come on, and the inspection message will change to 4 flashing dashes (----). release the trip button. Job done.
