You simply dissconnect the battery for about 15-20 minutes. Now if you want to have it read, just take it to a place like auto zone, or advanced auto, and they can tell you what that light is for, and then they can even clear it for you all for free. Just ask them if they can check and reset your check engine light. Theyre reset takes about 10 seconds, so its alot quicker!

When my check engine light comes on, it is caused by the temperature sensor not working. As soon as the light comes on, my temperature drops to cool. If the light goes out, the temp gauge returns to normal.
How do i check the transmission fluid in a manual 99 Hyundai Accent?
I had the same problem with my Tiburon and found out that the check engine light will come on if the gas cap isn't tightened at least 3 clicks. Or if your rubber seal on the gas cap itself is worn. I bought a new gas cap went to O'reilly's and had them reset the code. It hasn't came on since. So if your car is running fine then check the cap.
because you are one alot of ol timers call the check engine light and idiot light
