Hopefully there is a way...On my '95 Saab 900SE convertible there wasn't. If you set locked the car (and set the alarm automatically at the same time) with the key fob, you HAD to unlock the car using the fob as well! Fortunately I never lost my fob or had its batteries die between when I had locked the car and when I had unlocked it with the fob, but on occasion I would have the audacity to unlock the car with the key and then get to hear that yes, the alarm was still functioning.
Due to this it's advisable (IMHO) to either forget about using the remote fob at all, OR always make sure you had at least two of them programmed and working ok.
If you only have one working programmed fob, you can buy a second (eBay is a good place to look) and then pay about $50 for a dealer to activate the programming of the 2nd fob to your car. BUT, if you lose or break all the fobs, in order to get new fobs programmed they also have to replace the computer module that they work with...over a $1000 expense!
Hopefully since your 9000 is newer than my 900 was, you won't be in the same situation. This is one (of many) issues with the 95 Saab that lead me to sell it during one of those moments that everything was working well. I liked the car overall, but there was always something lurking waiting to take a $1000 or more out of my wallet to resolve. bummer.
good luck.
I need the heating and cooling wiring schematics for a 1996 SAAB 9000.
On most, just lock the driver's door with the key.
I reset the code after a dead battery and it was the wrong code, how can I reset it and /or find the corrrect code
The fuel filter on a 1996 Saab 9000 is located under the car, just in front of the right rear wheel. Replacement is easy, but take care and precautions (fire extinguisher) because there's riks of fuel spill.
The Saab 9000 was made until 1998. They discontinued it in favor of the Saab 9-5.
Jerry initially had a BMW 5 Series as there is an episode where it is ruined by BO from a valet. Later in the series he has a classic Saab black 900 convertible, then a later Saab non-turbo 900 SE convertible, auto with tan interior. I don't recall seeing him ever in a 9000. Edit: In the episode where Jerry's car gets wrecked and they go to "identify" the car he accidentally says "Saab 9000" but he means to say "Saab 900". He definitely drove a black 1996 Saab 900SE Convertible, he never drove a 9000.
There are a number of different places one can puchase a SAAB 9000. One of the best places to start is at a local SAAB dealership. Another place would be other used car dealers.
my srs light and exclamation light wont go out
Any engine from any year saab 900 or 9000, as long as you know what you are doing.
very carefully.
It is a shame that the Saab motor company no longer makes cars. Its cars were just a bit different and stood out from the crowd. One might find a 9000 Aero to buy on the Saab Scene website or Auto Trader.
