Renault Service - computer controlled indicator. You may change oil by yourself, but the indicator won't change until it is reset digitally. What does this mean?
You change the oil
To reset the oil life on a Mercury Montego, turn the ignition to the "On" position without starting the engine. Press the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. This should reset the oil life indicator on the dashboard. If the indicator doesn't reset, repeat the process to ensure it was done correctly.
To reset the oil change indicator on a 2004 Honda Rincon, first turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Next, press and hold the "Select" button on the instrument panel until the indicator flashes. After it flashes, release the button and then press it again briefly to confirm the reset. The oil change indicator should now be reset.
The indicator was not or cant be reset.
Oil change indicator will come on at 49 hrs for two hrs of operation than will reset itself.

To reset the oil change indicator on a 2005 Volvo XC90, turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal three times within five seconds. After this, turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify that the oil change indicator has been reset. If the light remains on, repeat the procedure.
