Most of the newer GM cars are set up so that it's fairly easy. Turn the key on. Push the accelerator pedal all the way down and release 3 times. It should now be reset.
Hold the oil/trip Reset button while ignition is on (not car) for 8 seconds
Turn the ignition on in the car and hold down the trip reset button on the dash for about 10 seconds, the change oil light may blink a few times but then go out. All done!
take off the negative cable for 10 sec. or so, that should clear all the codes and reset the computer.

The check engine light has nothing to do with an oil change. The check engine light is reset with a scan tool after repairing the failure that caused it.
There is no "reset" switch, that I know of. Everything on that car, programs either through the radio, or, with a Tech 2, through the OBD2.
