To reset the ignition timing on a 4.3-liter Oldsmobile Bravada, first ensure the engine is at operating temperature and then turn it off. Disconnect the timing connector, usually located near the distributor, to enable the timing adjustment. Start the engine and use a timing light to check the timing mark on the harmonic balancer against the timing tab. Adjust the distributor until the timing is set to the specified value, usually around 0 degrees BTDC for this engine, then reconnect the timing connector and turn off the engine.
