You have three options:
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 5 minutes.
2. Go to a place like autozone or advanced auto parts and convince someone there to let you borrow their code reader so you can reset it. Or, convince them to reset it for you.
3. Take it in and get it fixed by a mechanic.
If you choose 1 or 2 and don't fix the problem, the check engine light will just come on again after a short while. If you're trying to reset it in order to pass an emissions inspection, just resetting it will likely not work as the system will not pass the "readiness" test.
