To unlock a radio you must input the radio code. This is done using the preset radio station buttons on the face of the radio. Contact your dealer for more info on your radio code if you don't have it.
if you don't have a proper scan tool to reset it, then the only other way is to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. warning : the radio and clock, etc will reset also & the radio security lock could activate (radio would then not work until reset)
call your orig dealer and ask for the radio code if you dont have it i think the radio gives you 2 or 3 attemtps to input the radio code, if you dont get it right it will lock you out....if that happens, unhook car's battery and reconnect ...when you turn on the radio, you will then be prompted to enter the radio code. hope this helps
By inserting the code into the radio with the presets. Look for the code written on a acrd or in the owners manual. If the code is for instance 46215 then just push those presets numbers. Code must appear on the screen in order for it to take the code. If lock appears turn the radio on for 3 hours and it will reset to code.
Take it to a dealership. The theft lock feature is there to deter theft of these radios.
I had to go to a dealership to get the radio unlocked, also the cause; ( radio locked) was Battery Failure. After I puchased a new battery I found the radio use to be locked.
I think you are assuming that to reset the check engine light you can just disconnect the battery. Disconnecting the battery on a 2004 OBD2 compliant vehicle will not reset the check engine light. It must be reset with an OBD2 scan tool. This would work on OBD1 vehicle but not on OBD2 vehicles. So the radio issue is mute. Have the problem that set the check engine light repaired and then reset the light with the tool. Reset the light without correcting the problem and the light will just come back on.
Leave the radio turned on. After several times (usually 30 minutes), it should reset itself. Please note that 10 invalid attempts to enter the code will lock the radio completely.
Located on the bottom of the camera is a slide lock. Release the slide lock and remove the battery pack. If this does not correct the issue a reset of the camera may be needed.
Don`t buy another Honda! While I agree largely with the above statement, especially since it shouldn't be such an ordeal to change out a battery the simple answer is as follows. While connecting the battery as in my case have an assistant manually or remotely lock and unlock the door a few times. That should silence the alarm. Next you'll need to get the radio and navi codes from your dealer to reset the radio and navi systems.
turn the steering, full lock to the left, then full lock to the right, while being stationary, light will then go out.
Lock door with key .... unlock door with key then lock and hold key over for a few seconds
If your the actual owner of the car and it has the manuals, there's a 4 digit code in one of the Kia manuals for the radio, it's usually something like 1212 but if you enter the wrong code too many times, it locks up and you have to disconnect the battery cable and re-connect it to reset the lock on the radio.
