Disconnect your battery, and leave it disconnected for at least 24 hours. The battery backup on the computer will die after 24 hours, at that point, the service engine indicator is reset.

You could try un hooking the battery.

There are pages and pages and items that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked for codes with a scan tool. After repair light can be shut off with scan tool.

you need access to an OBDII scan tool in order to reset the check engine light on any vehicle 1996 or newer. autozone or advanced auto usually provide this service for free
you have to take it to a shop with a computer to reset it they have to go to threw the comptuer in the truck my 93 dodge is the same way. i just live with the light on.
