To reset the radio in your Honda you will need the security code for the radio. This usually is included in the car's manual or you can also go to Honda's website and input your car's VIN number to retrieve the code. Once you have the code the car manual will walk you through the steps of resetting the radio.
One - the radio runs off the battery. Two - if the battery has been replaced, during the time it wad out of the car all its memory was lost. You may have to reset it from scratch. Three - it's a coincidence.
Yes it did.
The time would only "reset" if the clock battery on th motherboard has died. Replacing the battery should eliminate the problem.
this happened to me just before my battery died.
There should be a factory reset code in the owners manual of your car. It should be located under the radio heading. If you are not the original owner, The first owner had the option to change the code so no one can use it if it was stolen. In this case, you will have to take the car to the dealer or you can take out the radio and get the serial number off the back and the dealer service department should be able to give you the factory code over the telephone so you will be able to change it back. the battery died in my remote. After replacing it the auto start will not work. What are the steps I need to take to reprogram it??
If you jump started it without pulling the radio fuze, you fried it. It can be repaired for about 200.00 through Radio Sound if you haven't already tried to fix it.
Unlocking Error E on Honda AccordI had the same problem after my battery died and I didn't know what "Code" meant so I just pushed buttons until I got Error E and it locked up. You need to disconnect one battery terminal for 30 seconds or so, then reconnect, and the radio will say "Code" again. Type in the 5 digit code found on the Anti-Theft Radio Identification Card (a white credit card size card that comes with the vehicle at the time of purchase). This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state. It worked for me, so I hope that helps. Try thisI discovered a very easy and FREE way to fix your radio. Make sure your radio is OFF. Hold down the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time. Turn the radio on and your SERIAL NUMBER will appear. 4 numbers first and then 4 more. Write them down (obviously) then call (800) 999-1009. Make sure you have your VIN number handy because they will ask for it. They will ask for your name and approx. milage, and your radio's serial number. They will then give you your radio unlock code--WRITE IT DOWN!IF you have the VIN#, and are registered with Honda, you can go to their website https://radio-navicode.honda.com/. You will need to enter your VIN#, registered phone number and zip code as well as your radio/nav serial number (retrieval process detailed above). The site walks you through the inputs and if successful, then spits either your radio code or nav code.
Remove the slide-out ashtray in the center console. The radio code is written on the bottom of that tray in many of the early models of the MDX.
If you take your car to Nissan car dealership and request for your radio code with the right identification, your wish will be granted.
The vehicle may have to complete a relearn cycle which can take a couple hundred miles.
it is possible that the battery died.
