^^this is one of the key elements, yes...but i think you have to push the clutch in all the way, start the car, take off the E brake(if you have it on) move stick to reverse, and release the clutch and your golden...thats my understanding of it...ive only driven a manual twice...
Automatic or manual?
Yes, you can install a backup camera in a manual car. Locate the vehicle's reverse light wire. Solder together the camera's power wire to the vehicle's reverse wire. Run the camera's signal wire to the monitor.
yes it does have reverse? wtf? not sure what you are asking or telling? if it wont go in then you may need a new transmission but the car has reverse none the less
Manual or Automatic?? In either case, most likely the linkage. Manual, might be the syncronizer gear or low on lubricant.
Automatic or manual trans? What am I missing here? Explain! If it is stuck in 3rd gear then it is obvious that it can't go in reverse.
Some manual cars have a safety built into the reverse shift of the transmission. You need to push the shift knob down, and then over into the reverse gear.
A lot of newer cars have a "lever" you must lift to shift into reverse. It's a safety feature to keep from throwing your car into reverse instead of 5th gear. Mine is a ring right below the knob that you lift up. See if you car has something similar.
I know on the 06 Z4 you just have to pull toward you a little harder, its kinda spring loaded reverse and first are side by side they do this to keep you from shoving it in reverse on a shift down.
If the engine is running/idling to high, it will make putting it into reverse very difficult. Manual transmissions rarely have internal problems aside from clutch assembly replacement. That's not to say it couldn't have a problem though.
Yes. Any gear may be selected at a standstill, though it is recommended that you only engage the clutch in 1st or reverse when standing still.
Dragging clutch, clutch is oil soaked, hydraulic release system is faulty.
reverse and then align it
