On the Baikal/Remington SPR 310 O/U, you simply push the trigger forward to select the top barrel, leave it alone to have the bottom barrel fire first.

It is possible to fire a shotgun without a choke, but it is highly not reccomended, and they don't cost that much If you select a barrel with no choke (cylinder) it will cause the pattern to be looser than for a barrel of a shotgun that has a tighter choke. The extreme is "full choke" which keeps a tight pattern out to the effective range. Full choke is typically used for waterfowl. A shotgun that is pressed into double duty (shot for small game and slugs for big game) would work well to have modified choke. Slugs have to be designed to fire through a full choke without blowing the barrel but you will certainly shorten the life of the barrel by firing slugs through a choked barrel. If you can afford an extra barrel, then use a cylinder (no choke) for slugs. Remington and other shotgun manufacturers have interchangeable choke tubes (see link) that allow you to screw in the appropriate choke for your quarry.

An assault rifle is a rifle that has more than 22'' inches of barrel and has selective firing rate, while the carbine rifle has a less 22'' inches barrel and semi automatic. ^^ Wrong.. An assault rifle is any select fire rifle that is chambered for an intermediate cartridge... Barrel length has nothing to do with it. The M16 has a 20" barrel length and is considered an assault rifle. The AK47 has a 16" barrel and is considered an assault rifle... Carbines that are select fire and chambered in an intermediate cartridge are still considered assault rifles.
You probably mean 'selector'. It's a toggle switch on a double barreled shotgun that allows a shooter to choose which barrel fires first. This is especially handy when hunting, because you can select a barrel that corresponds with your distance to target using two different chokes. Chokes are constrictions at the end of the barrels that determine the grouping of the shot--and therefore their effective range--so having two different settings in one gun allows you to have two different ranges available with the switch of a button.
On the outside edge of the receiver, you will see 2 screws, one on each side. See diagram in figure 3 at the following link. http://www.eaacorp.com/diagrams-izh27lg.html When the screw is turned so that the slot is across the receiver, that should be "extractor" mode. When the screw is turned parallel to the receiver, the should be "ejector" mode. See also page 12 of the owners manual at the following link. http://www.eaacorp.com/Manuals/IZH-27-Manual.PDF
