You would not "set" anything. However, you would adjust the pH with the addition of either muriatic acid or soda ash. Please, read the manual(s) that came with the pool and the salt system. Then read up on proper pool maintenance. Or hire a pool tech to come out and explain the system and water chemistry to until you understand it. Take notes. His service call will be a one time charge and well worth it. k
MANY different things. The standard set of strips test for: Chlorine levels Alkalinity levels (pH) Acidity levels (pH) Stabiliser Salinity levels (if testing in salt water chlorinated pools)

A properly dosed salt water pool should be better on your sinuses then a freshwater pool. as it is more in tune withe the chemistry of your body. Salt concentrations in salt water pools are about the same as that found in your tears. Perhaps you should check that your chlorininator is not set too high. too much chlorine can lead to irritation in places like the sinuses.
Chlorine levels, PH levels, Salt levels, stabilizer level, Make sure salt chlorinators are set correctly, check timing so that pool is filtering for enough time to produce required chlorine.

When I got it done it involved dumping about 2/3 of the water in my ordinary salt water pool to reduce the amount of sodium chloride, However if you have a fresh water pool then you need not lose any water at all, Throw the required amount of Magnesium and potassium chloride in the pool, set up the new salt chlorinating unit and that's all that there is to it. I will put a link below to a mob in Australia that flogs the stuff so that you can get more information.
Lady in the Water is set in Philadelphia but was actually shot and filmed in Broomall, PA on a set built specifically for the production. The building was just a shell, the pool was by Bud's Pools out of NJ.
Mixing salt water with concrete is not advised. The concrete will not set up properly and will crumble very easily.
Pools using salt systems have equipment that coverts sodium chloride (salt) in the water to chlorine in a small chamber on the return side of the filtration and heating equipment. The only advantage to adding additional chlorine to the pool would be to rapidly oxidize(shock)impurities like algae from the water by raising the chlorine content markedly. If the salt system is properly set and working this should not be necessary. ANSWER FROM ANOTHER ANGLE Using normal salt sodium chloride in a normal chlorine set up (That is Without a salt water chlorinator) would probably be slightly beneficial to the skin. However using magnesium chloride and potassium chloride besides the advantage of being non toxic and good for the garden makes the skin and muscles feel good.
Put it together read instructions.
My grandmother soaked the fabric in salt water before washing in detergent. Unfortunately, I don't know how much salt she used in the water.
The water is evaporated.
