how do you set timing on a 92 geo prizm if timing belt has broken
advance auto parts has a good set for about 45 bucks on my 1.6
These is a little metric set screw on the semicircular cam at the end of the throttle cable. It has a locknut that will need to be loosened for the adjustment. -On my geo, there is a flat-head screw on the intake manifold, right next to where the hose is connected from the airbox. Simply turn it right or left to adjust your idle. Hope that helps-
You hold the "rcl" button in and use the "seek/scan button for hours and minutes.
Turn on the power knob for the radio/clock. Wait until the clock display shows up. Press "set", and use the "scan" and "seek" buttons to set the time. Hope this helps!
Push the set button then use the seek and scan buttons on the radio
hold the "rcl" button in and use the "seek" button for hours and the "scan" button for minutes
Press and hold the HR or MIN arrow for two seconds. Then press the HR arrow until the correct hour appears. Press and hold the MIN arrow until the correct minute appears. The clock may be set with the ignition on or off.
You probably need a new set of plug wires. If the ones on it are original, they are probably breaking down and have a lot of resistance as opposed to a new set.
Maybe you've got a dirty fuel filter. Have you ever replaced it? The plug setting is pretty important. Set them to .30 to .35 and the stalling will probably stop when hot.
If its like my '90, power off the radio so that the time displays. Then, hit Set. Then the Seek/Scan buttons will change the hours and minutes. When you are finished, hit Set again to get out of Clock Setting mode.
hit set button then the sel button and turn the tuner knob
