On left side of engine next to cylinder there is a bolt, remove it. There you will find the mark for the crank. The cam has a line on the end with the gear, line this up with the top of the head. To line the marks up you will need to remove the spark plugs and turn the engine over slowly until the marks line up.
I have a 1998 Suzuki Sidekick JX 4X4 4 Doors, How do I set the timing? Please show me the steps thank you.
You can set the camshaft timing, on your Suzuki 450, by manually turning the engine to the number one spot. Adjust the camshaft valves with the adjustment screw.

The spark plug gap setting for a 2001 Suzuki RM 250 should be set at .024 inches. This is equal to about .6 mm.
With the timing set at 10 degrees BTDC it is 800 RPM.
What do you wanna know about it? how do you set it?
If you are talking about ignition timing then the answer is easy. You don't. Suzuki's PEI (Pointless Electronic Ignition) takes care of timing the spark. If you are talking about valve timing-resubmit and I will take a stab at explaining it. There is no way to remap the electronic ignition system to change the spark timing.
do you have a timing diagram for a suzuki 450 motorcycle
