You have to line up all 3 of your tjmjng marks.Is your engine single head or double overhead cams The marks have to line up.Firstyou have to remove the belt.Then remove harmonic balancer to get to the timing gear sprocket.It has a blade attached to it with 3 fins in between the fins is a little dip that is the crankshaft position.align that dip with the mark below the crankshaft position sensor.then you have to do the same with your camshafts.Then replace the belt and spin the the crankshaft clockwise to the aligment mark they should all stop on their marks.

i have a 94 Honda passport, my engine is a 3.2L with coil packs. the timing is non adjustable. on the 3.1L the timing indicator is located at the front of the engine by the crankshaft pulley. the timing set is 10-degrees BTDC @ 800rpm. disconnect the set timing connector at the distributor.
