With the engine at #1 TDC you can set 1, 2, 5, & 7 intakes, and 1, 3, 4, & 8 exhausts. Rotate the engine one revolution (#6 TDC) to set the rest.
When you're adjusting the backlash, tighten the nut on the rocker until there is no up and down movement of the pushrod. When you get to the point of zero backlash, tighten an additional 1/2 turn for preload.
Rocker studs lubricated with oil, 50 ft/lbs. Valve covers 3 lb/ft.
