Just like anything else, the starter solenoid will eventually wear out. They can short, short to ground and stick.
Did you put the small solenoid wire on the correct small terminal?
If the key is on and the shift is in park you can safely start the unit by engaging the solenoid with a short jumper wire.
code 25 -refers to a short or open circuit between the solenoid valve to ECM.possible broken fuel pressure regulator or short circuit from solenoid valve to fuel injector main relay. check selenoid valve.(fuel pressure regulator control solenoid)
Short the two battery leads together, this will bypass the solenoid and should turn the starter. But this does not answer the question....it just lets you see if the starter works. How do you CHECK the solenoid to see if it is GOOD or BAD???
[A] short wires across on plug read code then run car [read and note code] [B] unshort plug run car ,[read and note code ][C] replug back in solenoid run [note and read code] which fault did u first have before test .If A short in solenoid itself ,If b in all tests broken wire .If c solenoid or tank leak [canister]
It should be attached to the short positive battery cable.
Well, there could be a short between the ign. to the solenoid, or, bad contact. The contact in the ign. could be faulty . I would check the ign. first.
electronic pressure solenoid short. Either the wiring harness on the back of the engine is chaffing and touching block, or a short somewhere from point a to b. or possibly have to change solenoid itself, which you can do yourself by taking the pan off bottom of tranny.
There could be more than one reasons. Applied voltage may not be 118 volts. Solenoid valve may have been stuck mechanically. Solenoid coil could be faulty, partially short.
which solenoid, starter solenoid or a/c vac solenoid ?
When my Celebrity's starter was going out (1987, 2.5L) this would happen to me. Dropped in a brand new starter and solenoid and never happened again. Likely a short inside the solenoid I suppose.
