Alt+Ctrl+Del -> Processes, right click on the process which you want to close "End Process". P.S. Some programs, viruses are created in a way, when you cannot see it with standard software.
If you mean a web page, Hit the "x" upper right corner, or if you have tabs on your toolbar, select the "x" or if you have a window open along the bottom of your screen, right click & select "close".

No not necessarily. What takes a computer so long to shut down is the fact that it has to close all the background programs as well as any that are running in the forground. Most people (me included) have a lot of background programs that need to be shut down before the computer will turn off.

Sure seems like it to me. After it was installed my security shut down. There are strange programs running in the background. It has been a experience. Working on uninstalling it right now.

The fan remains running after the vehicle shuts off in order for the engine to cool down. Once the motor cools down sensors trigger the fan to shut it off.
