Simple: Grasp the stock just behind or in front of the trigger in your hand and with the other hand grab the barrel out toward the sight. With a quick yank pull down on the barrel (Like you are trying to bend it) You will feel it break free and swing down. Pull the barrel all the way down until you feel the action click twice. This cocks the mechanism. Load the barrel opening with one pellet (Nose forward). Pivot the barrel back up into position and you will feel it lock into it's original position. You are now loaded. If you need a service manual, for your rifle, from Crosman you can download it on-line free at: (see the link below)
Button rifling is referring to how the barrel is manufactured, or actually how the rifling part of the manufacturing process is completed. With button rifling, a plug (called a button) is pulled through the hole in the barrel. If you want to learn more about different types of rifling, try this web page: http:/www.firearmsid.com/A_bulletIDrifling.htm A free floating barrel has to do with how the barrel is mounted on the gun. On a free floated barrel, the forend or stock does not come into contact with the barrel. The only place that the barrel will make contact with another part of the gun is where it is attached to the receiver. This type of system, as opposed to a system where the barrel makes contact with the stock, allows the barrel to flex, or to heat and cool more uniformly, allowing better accuracy in many cases.
You will need a free-float hand guard kit. These can be purchased online. Check out this video for an example of how to install such a kit: http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to/video/how-to-install-a-free-float-handguard-on-an-ar-15-rifle-267096/view/

Practice, practice, practice. That's the best way. If you want to make an M4 more accurate, there's a number of things you could do. Using a non chrome-lined barrel, using target ammunition, having a rifling twist rate which is ideal for the round you're using, free floating the barrel, etc. As well as that, firing from supported positions always helps, too.
There are not any other apps like Barrel that you can get for free. You can get the app Barrel 2 for free.
