You can force molt by turing off the lights in the barn, but therefore they have to be indoor chickens. Turn off the lighs for 3-4 days, which makes the chickens think it is winter. Don't supply as much food and water as usual. Molting lasts about 2 weeks.

∙ 13y agoYou can put a vitamin tonic into their water, otherwise it is part of their normal life cycle. Feeding extra does not hasten the duration of the molt. The feathers must drop out and be renewed.

How would you get a flock of chickens to lay large quantities of eggs every day?
Chickens lay one egg every 28 hours. There is no way to speed this up, so you would have to have sufficient numbers of laying hens to achieve the number of eggs you want per day. Also, chickens go through a period of laying inactivity during which they replace all their feathers. This is the molting process and you cannot bypass this either.
What is the difference between laying chickens and meat chickens?
Chickens only lay eggs. Baby chickens (chicks) hatch from those eggs and grow up. If the eggs are not fertilized, however, then they will not hatch. Those are the ones that are eaten.

no chickens eat everything, sometimes i think they are more like pigs then pigs are. I actually fed my chickens catfood when they were molting, gave them extra protein for growing back their feathers.
