Couple options. Strip off a half inch of insulation of the wire were the wire is separated. The splice the wires together. Apply electrical tape to the area that the wires were spliced. Or, replace the whole wire. I recommend replacement.
take a 12v power cord splice the wire and reconnect
A wire splice is the joining of two or more wires together. Commonly this is done with an approved wire joining nut. All slices are to be made in junction boxes to prevent fire should the wire splice become unserviceable.
You can solder them after using a western splice connection. You can use a mechanical butt splice and you can connect the wires together with a wire nut after twisting the wires together. All you have to remember is that the insulation of the splice has to be equal to the wire insulation or greater.
One splice that would work is a western splice.
Splicing Different WiresYes, IF the rules of proper splicing are followed, dissimilar metals can be successfully spliced. Some of those rules that I can recall at the moment include:The part of the wires to be connected by splicing MUST be clean and free of any grease, dirt, corrosion, or deleterious material.A "sound" mechanical connection MUST be made. That means either the wires properly twisted together, OR a mechanical device [connector, wire nut, or some type of terminal used].If a twisted mechanical splice is used, then the splice joint should be soldered to both "lock" the twisted splice, and to prevent the atmosphere from getting into the wire interface, causing corrosion which will degrade the current carrying ability of the splice joint.
Yes as long as you use an approved splice, such as a wire-nut.
The only way you can splice Home electric wiring is with a junction box. Any other way will and can cause fires.
first you must remove the plastic casing from the rear speakers and remove the dashboard. then disconnect the old speaker wire from the old speakers and tie the new wire to the old wire. at the radio, pull the speaker wires one by one until the new wire reaches you. then splice the new speaker wire to both the radio and the speakers and replace the dash and covers
Strip the wires back about 3/4" and then using lineman's pliers twist the wires together about 2 turns. Tighten a wire nut securely to the connection. Then tape the splice securely with electrical tape.
if the speakers are the right size for the stock location, pull out the factory speaker and eather buy a special conector or cut the original conector off and get new wire and but splice the new wire to the factory wire and attact to the speaker.
The most common way of making an electrical connection is with a device called a wire nut. Solid wire connections should be twisted together with a pair of pliers before installing the wire nut to hold the splice tight. Twisting stranded wire together with a pair of pliers does not allow the wire nut to grip the wires as tight as it should. Stranded wire should be held together side by side (in parallel) and let the wire nut twist the wires together to make a solid splice connection.
