If a con artist is talking to you, use your brain. Con artists usually sell things that you don't need, or tricks you into buying more of their stuff. Or both. If the con artist is trying to sell you what you don't need, and is a waste of money, make sure that you know if you need it or not. If you don't need it, then he/she's a con artist, but only about an 80% chance. If you need it, then he/she's not a con artist.

If you were the victim of one, file an offense report with your local law enforcement agency. If you only suspect that an individual may be running a con-game, call your local law enforcement agency and ask to speak to a detective.
