Just unlock the door with the key and open it. The alarm should not go off. If it does insert the key in the ignition and turn it on. The alarm will stop.

if the alarm goes off and the electrics on the key wont stop it - don't panic at the racket - but simply use the key and manually unlock the Vectra - then put key straight into ignition; alarm may stop at this point but if not then take tyhe last step needed to 'cut it' and merely turn on the ignition/start the car with the actual cut key.
I just had this happen and got the alarm to stop by putting the key in the drivers door and the ignition- I don't remember which one made it stop.
Insert the door key into the driver's door and turn.
Its not really an alarm it just has to be started and have the doors opened by the same coded key or the engine will not start.

DO NOT LOCK CAR BY REMOTE JUST USE YOUR KEY THIS WILL NOT ACTIVATE ALARM
If you put a key in the lock and unlock it while the alarm is going off after jump-starting the car, the alarm will stop.
