Don't know about "supposed" to...

The wild ancestors of domesticated dogs are unlikely to get hold of any amounts of honey, so it's a non-issue for them. But there's nothing particularly dangerous in honey, specially not in small amounts. But if your dog has finished off a whole jar I suggest you call a vet just in case.

Well, if it's on a leash then you gotta pull it as hard as you can away from it. Make sure you don't pull it to where your dog may choke. Next time your near a garden or the park then you gotta look out for bees so your dog won't get them. And most importantly DON'T GET STUNG BY THE BEE!

try putting the honey in high places where the dogs cannot get to it
